DeYoungster’s Day Out 2023
What better way to spend a rainy Saturday in San Francisco than at the de Young museum?
On Saturday, March 11th, thousands of Bay Area families attended a free all-day event de Youngster’s Day Out. An annual tradition, this event focuses on music, cultural performances, hands-on art creation, and workshops by local artists.
As a lead sponsor for this event for the second year in a row, Zenni team members were on-hand all day helping families try on Zenni frames and completing vision screenings. The Zenni team, along with students and faculty from the Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science at UC Berkeley, screened 360 children between the ages of 2 and 14. Forty-nine children did not pass the vision screening and were counseled on how to locate local eye exam services, as well as free Zenni glasses vouchers!
In the Zenni Zone, complimentary Zenni frames were available for every child who completed a vision screening. These frames included tinted sunglass lenses offering UV protection and Blokz® blue-light blocking lenses for use on digital devices.
Proceeds from this event supported the de Young’s Equity School Partnership Project, which provides art supplies, in-classroom support, and transportation for students who do not typically visit the de Young.
We can’t wait for next year’s event!
