Zenni Launches “Fast Frame” to Ship Glasses in 24 Hours or Less

New U.S.-based manufacturing operations reduces shipping time by 70%

NOVATO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Zenni, the online eyewear retail leader, today announced Fast Frame, a premium service to expedite new eyeglass orders in a fraction of standard delivery times. Fast Frame provides the option for Zenni’s U.S.-based customers to receive new glasses at their door in as quick as two business days, exponentially faster than the industry’s standard wait time of 7-14 business days and half the time of Zenni’s existing express shipping option. Fast Frame includes a broad selection of hundreds of popular frame styles that can be ordered with single-vision prescriptions, sunglasses or Blokz®, Zenni’s blue light blocking lenses, for expedited delivery.

Staying true to the brand’s mission of bringing affordable eyewear to everyone, the Fast Frame rush delivery fee is included in each frame’s price, ultimately a $19 value, with complete pairs starting at $43. Whether the service is used to replace sunglasses lost on vacation, children’s glasses broken at school, as a last-minute gift for family or just to quickly get new glasses needed for everyday life, Fast Frame was designed with expressly these common consumer pain points in mind.

“At Zenni, we always listen to customer feedback and look for ways to improve the experience and the overall delivery process,” said Bai Gan, Chief Product Officer with Zenni. “Fast Frame is one of the most impactful outputs of our new Ohio manufacturing and fulfillment facility for our customers across the country.”

All Fast Frame glasses are globally sourced and finished and processed at Zenni’s new manufacturing facility in Obetz, Ohio. Zenni’s new location is designed to be the largest and most advanced prescription eyewear manufacturer in the U.S., as well as the first U.S.-based manufacturing center since the company’s inception in 2003. Zenni recently established this second facility to help the company evolve its manufacturing and fulfillment capabilities stateside to better meet customer needs and demand. In addition to reducing reliance on the global supply chain, the Ohio factory allows Zenni to reach more than 60 percent of its customer base in as little as 48 hours, significantly decreasing shipping times. Zenni will employ more than 300 people at its Ohio location.

“The global supply chain issues over the last year disrupted companies big and small, across every industry,” said Rob Tate, General Manager for Zenni USA. “Our newest facility in Ohio mitigates the risks that come from relying on third-party international suppliers, and allows us to fulfill customer orders in record time. As we continue to scale the business, we now have even more flexibility and space to advance our mission of providing Eyewear for Everyone.”

Obetz is part of Franklin County in the Columbus Region of Central Ohio. Home to over 1,700 manufacturing establishments, the Columbus Region’s strategic location allows manufacturers like Zenni to reach 151 million people within a day’s drive. The Columbus Region is also home to multimodal logistics hub the North American International Freight Center, a top 10 Foreign Trade Zone and Rickenbacker International Airport, one of the world’s only cargo-dedicated airports.
