Zenni was honored to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s family-focused annual event at the historic De Young Museum in San Francisco. The day was filled with creativity, connection, and innovation as Bay Area families came together to enjoy hands-on art activities, live performances, and enriching in-gallery conversations. But this wasn’t just about fun—proceeds from the event will directly benefit the museum’s completely free school and family programming throughout the year, including: free field trips to the de Young and Legion of Honor for students from hundreds of Bay Area schools and Free Saturdays, which offers free general admission and robust family programming for residents of all nine Bay Area counties at the de Young.
With a focus on accessibility, innovation, and making a measurable difference, Zenni stepped up to create experiences that combined art, vision health, and lasting connections with the local community.
Innovating Vision Care at the De Young Museum
One of Zenni’s goals for supporting this event is to make vision care accessible and engaging for all. Over the course of the day, Zenni conducted more than 250 vision screenings, incorporating cutting-edge technology. We also gave families a glimpse into the future of eye care with our VR vision screenings, an interactive demonstration that showcased our commitment to innovative and accessible solutions. A total of 30 children and 15 adults experienced VR-based vision evaluations, which offered a fun activity and valuable insights into their eye health. By using VR technology, Zenni highlighted how advanced tools can make eye screenings more effective, comfortable, and engaging, especially for younger audiences who may feel anxious during traditional checkups.
Protecting Young Eyes: EyeQLenz Glasses
Zenni believes in empowering families with tools that promote long-term eye health. Upon completing their vision screenings, participating children received a pair of EyeQLenz glasses. These kid-friendly glasses offer triple light protection against blue light, UV light, and infrared light. In today’s digital-first world, where children spend hours on screens, adequate eye protection is more important than ever. With EyeQLenz, Zenni is reinforcing its mission to provide stylish, high-quality, and affordable eyewear that supports eye health and well-being for all ages.
A Star-Studded Surprise: George Kittle Meets with Families
Zenni’s ambassador, George Kittle, made a special appearance during the event. The San Francisco 49ers star hosted a “Chalk Talk” activity, encouraging creativity and engaging over 150 families. Kids and parents alike had the opportunity to participate in football-themed discussions and enjoy one-on-one moments with one of their favorite local sports icons. As part of the experience, families received frames from The Kittles x Zenni collection.
Strengthening Community Connections
This magical day at the De Young Museum was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community. It exemplified Zenni’s dedication to its corporate social responsibility initiatives, highlighting our efforts to merge vision care with deeper cultural engagement. While our focus is always on providing accessible eye care, this event demonstrated that partnerships rooted in shared values can create a ripple effect of positivity.
Zenni’s collaboration with the De Young Museum underscores the importance of sustaining programs that empower underserved children and families, ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to discovering the transformative power of creativity.
A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers
This incredible day wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our passionate and hardworking team. Zenni employees and volunteers played a pivotal role in bringing this event to life, from facilitating vision screenings to handing out EyeQLenz glasses and making sure every attendee felt welcome and supported.
Thank you to everyone who made this celebration so memorable and to the families who joined us at the De Young Museum. You’re the heart of everything we do at Zenni. Here’s to many more moments of creativity, connection, and community impact!
