Kids’ Glasses FAQs

You will need your child’s latest valid (unexpired) vision prescription from their eye doctor. You will also need to know your child’s pupillary distance (PD). This may be included on your child’s prescription; if it isn’t, you can ask the eye doctor to provide it or you can use our online PD tool to measure your child’s pupillary distance with your device’s camera. Note, this works best for kids who can reliably sit still and look at the camera for a few seconds.

Yes, all of our sunglasses lenses AND our optical lenses come with 100% UVA/UVB protection to keep kids’ eyes safe from the sun’s rays. By the way, this is true of our lenses for adults’ glasses and sunglasses too!

Children’s vision can change as they grow, so regular eye exams are recommended. Here are recommendations from the American Optometric Association

While no pair of glasses can be totally unbreakable, we offer flexible frames, impact-resistant lenses and a scratch-resistant lens coating, all of which help prevent the type of damage caused by kids’ active lives. We know that accidents happen, which is why we keep our prices low to make replacing glasses easy on family budgets, because every kid deserves clear vision. We now also offer an extended warranty on our glasses, which you can add to your order at checkout.

We don’t offer a free trial, however, our 14-day risk-free return policy provides plenty of time for your child to try out their glasses. Return the glasses within the 14-day “trial” period for a full refund to your original form of payment, including shipping fees. If you miss the 14-day deadline, you can also return glasses after 30 days for store credit, minus the cost of shipping. You can read the details of our return policies in our Help Center or contact Customer Service if you have more questions.

We also recommend using our Virtual Try-on feature while shopping for kids’ glasses. Your child will be able to see how their glasses or sunglasses will look on them before you buy. Note that Virtual Try-on works best for kids who can reliably sit still and look at the camera for a few seconds.
