Cheap matte plastic ruins otherwise attractive frames
6 months agoThe shape of these are great. Unfortunately, since the material is listed as “mixed materials,” the thing that isn’t readily obvious in the pictures is that the non-metal material found on top of the frames and the arms isn’t the glossy acetate found on nice browline glasses (and Zenni makes many frames with a great acetate material) but rather a cheap-looking matte plastic along the lines of drugstore glasses. The clip-on shades are a nice touch, but again, a nicer material would class it up.

Good quality frames, but bad clip on
8 months agoThe frames itself is quite high quality with numerous pieces, including the hinge, made of metal. Basically everything that is gold is made of metal. However, the clip on itself kind of ruins the whole experience. Even if the glasses lens itself has an anti-reflective coating, putting on the clip on (which doesn't have AR coating) creates a reflection. It sort of overlaps the reflection from the lens and the reflection from the clip on. I would imagine the reflection would be even worse if I didn't have an anti-reflective coating on the glasses lens. It is super annoying if you have a light source behind you. My other non-clip on sunglasses with AR coatings from Zenni don't have this problem.
In the pictures I tried my best to show the problem with the reflection. In one picture, the clip on isn't attached and the reflection has a greenish hue. In the other picture, the clip on is attached and the reflection has a combination of the greenish hue reflection as well as the bright reflection. The pictures are pretty accurate with what you would see visually while wearing the glasses.
