The frames were great and exactly as expected; however, there appears to be an issue with my prescription.
3 days agoI chose Zenni Optical for its affordability and customization options and selected a lightweight acetate frame with premium lens features. The frame arrived as advertised—well-made, comfortable, and a perfect fit with no issues in design or durability.
However, the lenses did not meet expectations. I opted for anti-reflective coating, 1.67 high-index material, and Transitions XTRActive Polarized Gray lenses, which were supposed to darken in sunlight and reduce glare. Despite confirmation from customer service and product descriptions, the lenses barely darkened outdoors, providing little protection from sunlight or glare. While the anti-reflective coating and thin profile were present, the key photochromic function failed.
This is a significant issue, as reliable sun protection is essential for driving and outdoor use. The experience highlights the importance of verifying product limitations, asking detailed questions, reviewing independent feedback, and keeping documentation in case of discrepancies.
In summary, while the frame and basic lens quality were satisfactory, the primary advertised feature did not perform as promised, making the overall experience disappointing.
