Best 120 I have ever spent on anything
a year agoThese things are perfect. Super clear. Correct prescription. The lens are z87 stamped. The side shields are removable. The fit is perfect not too tight and they don't slide on your face. One thing is they do seem very cheap and fragile, super thin metal and flimsy but they may last 20 years or out last the lens. Take that as a grain of salt. I would definitely buy these again or if these break or it's time for new ones.

Good looking glasses for factory work.
2 years agoThese, with the protective clipons, work great for my husband's welding job where he is required to wear safety glasses. They won't protect against lab spills but they're perfect for machine labor.
They look great on him even though you can see the safety clipons. He has a very narrow face so it's nice to have an option that doesn't look like bug-eyes. They don't look goofy when he's outside the factory either. The clipons are a bit more tedious to remove than generic snap-ons. So he doesn't bother removing them unless he has a few days off. Also,
he prefers to have a second pair for weekends instead of hunting for his clipons every Sunday night.
He's worn the glasses for a year now, and they have held up with 2 exceptions: He is extremely hard on things and never treats them carefully. Somehow one of the screw's threads got stripped, and an arm came off. He simply drilled a larger screw into it. (I believe some epoxy glue was involved too but I don't remember.... I think he stepped on them with his steel-toed boots. but won't admit it.)
Second, I ordered the polycarbonate lense for him but I am upgrading that to Trivex for his next pair. This pair is pretty scratched up, to the point he can't see clearly. In addition to his harsh treatment of glasses, it seems the very air in his factory scratches everyone's lenses. None of his lenses have made it past a year, often 6 months. So we're going to try upgrading the lenses to something tougher, and buy this frame again. Fortunately, his job reimburses a chunk of the cost for equipment. We can use insurance for weekend fashion glasses.
He has another pair of plastic glasses from Zenni that he actually ran over with a van. They're still alive (but too lense-scratched to wear). So these frames, in comparison, are tough but not indestructable. However, they are easily repaired when one insists on abusing them. We're buying more.
